What are your fees and how can I pay?
A 50-minute session is $180, payable by e-transfer. I do not accept credit cards at this time.
What is your cancellation & no-show policy?
I require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, or do not show up for a booked session, you will be charged the full session fee. I may waive the fee at my discretion, depending on the circumstances.
Are therapy sessions covered by insurance?
Registered Psychotherapists (RP) are not covered by OHIP, however, most extended/private health plans do cover services provided by RPs. Please check your individual benefits to confirm if you have coverage for Registered Psychotherapists. After receiving payment, I will provide you with a receipt that includes my registration number that you can submit for reimbursement.
Do you provide services virtually or in-person?
Both! I am providing psychotherapy either in-person in Ottawa, or by secure video conferencing or telephone. If you choose a video session, you will receive a link to join the session prior to the start time. I use the Jane platform for online booking and video conferencing.
What happens if there are technical difficulties or internet issues?
If you are having difficulties connecting to a video session, please email or text me as soon as possible so that I can help troubleshoot. I can give you a call to see if we can figure it out, or hold the session over the telephone instead.
How do I prepare for a virtual (video) appointment?
Video sessions work best in a private, comfortable, well-lit environment. If possible, please wear headphones as they generally make for a smoother conversation experience.
